Had some decent information within but found a bit hard to keep with the flow of the writing.
I believe this book provides a realistic view of the need for implementing IoT strategies in an organization.I believe the 4 step framework provides a good starting point as well.

Great book! Nicolas does a tremendous job in this book to de-mystify what the IoT is, he details in very understandable terms the need to digitize your enterprise.
I totally agree with Nicolas Windpassinger about his main message: Digitize or Die. Yes the choices are as black and white as that.However, and though he was not the one who coined the term IOT or the “Internet of Things†but I think it does not give justice to this revolution. In my opinion, it should be called IOL or the “Internet of Lifeâ€. And I believe that Nicolas would agree with me on that as obvious from the following quotes from his book:“The IoT will connect everyone and everything into a seamless network, which Jeremy Rifkin calls the “Intelligent Third Industrial Revolution infrastructure—the Internet of Things.†IoT will “usher in a fundamental reordering of human relationships, from hierarchical to lateral power, that will impact the way we conduct business, govern society, educate our children, and engage in civic lifeâ€. (Locations 164-168).“The IoT will connect not only things with things, people with things and people with people, but it will unleash an unprecedented flow of data. (Locations 423-424).“The physical world is being animated -- becoming smart and interconnected. Billions soon trillions of inert objects becoming intelligent and communicating devices. (Kindle Locations 3545-3546).It is a kind of second genesis where the inanimate world is being seamlessly integrated within our daily life to become inseperable from it. This book is an IoT tour de force, and should be read by anyone interested in the future of automation, industrial and energy businesses.Perhaps the single most important achievement of the book deals with properly establishing what IoT really is. The book goes through all aspects of the Internet of Things, transforming a decidedly fuzzy topic into clear, well-defined concepts. It does so by tackling both business and technological perspectives that are relevant to the theme, doing so in a style that makes even the most difficult concepts very understandable to a non-technical audience.On top of the author being an expert on the IoT topic himself, the book is incredibly well-researched. Among several research papers, books (I counted about 15 of them being cited throughout the book) and online references, "Digitize or Die" lists 132 references -- roughly one external reference per every two pages. The author builds his proposed IoT4 methodology on top of these learnings, grounding it in actual, meaningful data.No work I've read so far on the IoT topic was as useful, concise and timely as "Digitize of Die" is, and its conversational style makes for a very smooth and pleasurable read. I highly recommend it.
Our company was getting into IoT, and as General Manager of the zone where the smart range was to be manufactured, I believed it essential that (as basically an outsider) I needed to grasp some of the underlying concepts.Searching for a book, I discovered most of the ones out there to be too technical and technology-oriented.Digitize or Die, however, turns out to be tailor-suited for business-minded people like myself who know little to nothing of IoT and wish to get familiar with it.In the process, I discovered the topic to be much, much more complex than I had assumed at first.Taking this in account, overall the book does a good job of clearing a path to understanding IoT: it is well-organized in chapters, and interspersed with interesting graphics and statistics.The author provides a step-by-step methodology, explaining the sometimes opaque terminology and issuing guidance as to the importance of each section, while maintaining strong business acumen throughout, for instance by insisting on how IoT (and disruption) is not a goal per se, but instead remains a means to achieve customer satisfaction, and how to harness this means to provide that extra value to the customer.The topic is also rendered difficult by the broadness of possible applications. Here again the book strikes a good balance, in such a way that I was able to adapt the explanations and guidelines directly to my business case.I can only strongly recommend this book to anyone facing the new challenges of IoT or simply curious about this exciting new trend set to become commonplace.
