I travel on backroads all over the US, and as a result I'm forced to use the Delorme in the east, where Benchmarks aren't available. Every time I look at one of the Delormes, I am nagged by a terrible longing for the Benchmark.Also, the Benchmarks contain far more detail. On the Delormes, most of the smaller backroads aren't labeled. On the Benchmark they are. Plus, it is an infinitely more beautifully example of cartography.I have nothing but praise for the Benchmark series. They're in a class of their own.

The way things change, it's a good idea to purchase a new atlas every couple of years. So far, Benchmark has done a great job of keeping up. Stapled binding is prone to damage when repeatedly folded open, and I would pay more for a spiral or comb binding, but this is a small issue.Would recommend, will buy another in a couple of years.

The Benchmark atlases are the best. We have them for all the states we do a lot of camping in, or spend time in the backcountry in. They're easy to read, and they point out or label all kind so interesting features. Plus they have a huge section of recreational or educational places of interest.

These are the best overall state maps I have found. I travel extensively in a small rv and these maps are my travel bibles. They cover the sites, camping, points of interest and are useful for just about any travel. I dry camp a lot and these show land ownership so that you know whether you are on public or private lands. They also give elevations and latitude and longitude so you can locate using GPS or compass navigation. I buy the one(s) for the states I am traveling to or through and have not been disappointed yet. I have tried maps from other vendors and always come back to these.

Two main sections.Section one is recreation oriented featuring info on campgrounds, activities, and sights by larger regions.Section two is large format maps covering the entire state.Very complete and useful.Only negative is just an accident of geometry...the area just south of Stanley covering Sawtooths and White Cloud just happens to fall where four map pages meet so to travel and cover that area involves a lot of page turning.I suggest supplementing this atlas with the local topographical maps from the USGS fo the specific areas you plan to hike/fish/camp.

I already had 2 of the Idaho editions, one is the first edition which I have disassembled to make the pages fit in my Happy Trails top Box. I select the pages I need for the current ride or make copies to fit in the tank bag. I don't go anywhere with out consulting my Benchmarks. Never trust your GPS and always consult your Benchmark.

I do a lot of motorcycle road trips as well as 4X4 off road camping. Lots of info in this company's atlas. Enough info that one can take a tour of the state and not leave the arm chair. Only have found one mistake so far and it had to do with missing a letter on one of the maps coordinate designator. More info then on the "other" atlas. Based on what I have seen so far I believe that the atlas info is field checked and up to date. It seems to be a accurate and good reference for trip planning (or dreaming) with many additional bits of useful info.

These maps were purchased by and for professional firefighters as recommended by field experts. They are essential for recreational or business travelers who require detailed geographic representation and accurate trip planning references. Rated as "the best" of available publications, they have features other maps do not. A precision terrain base image correctly overlaid with road names, recreational points of interest, hiking trails, waterways, and border/boundary lines make these an ideal road-trip companion. The large, easy-to-read book/tablet format fits readily into briefcase or auto seat pocket, without need to continually unfold & refold. Area sections are boldly numbered and easy to locate. Don't leave home without it.
