Nice book! Has some nice photos and seems to cover most all the major sites and a few lesser known ones. I always like Insight Guides.
Guide is fairly general and doesn't include a lot of specific recommendations. It was okay for very touristy things, but not the best for getting directions via public transit. It's okay, but I had to use other sources to see more interesting/local things.
This an excellent guide, very easy to use, very interesting.
Very helpful on my recent Hong Kong Travel
I am on exchange in Hong Kong, and this book has given me a clear preview of what I am seeing. I am from Latin America and culture is very different, but because of this book I could understand some features of their culture.
is this about politics or travel? I might find some use for it if I am taking a class in school but I don't think it presents a balanced view on past and current affairs about the city. Typically work done by some one who has no knowledge of the region at all, its all hear say and bits and pieces of information assembled together without giving much thought. I mean the majority of the information contained in this book doesn't help me to know the city at all, I will not bring it with me on my trip. I just need to know where to find what, and how to get there, is it too much to ask for?
